Rules regarding products and selling
Rules
- At Shoppu artists are allowed to sell original works of art as well as fanart that has been made by them, regardless of medium. Selling AI generated images or pirated goods is prohibited and should an artist be found guilty of this, Shumicon reserves the right to remove the artist from the event.
- Traced or otherwise copied fanart is not allowed. The fanart must have its’ own original flair and the artists’ style should show through. Any type of reselling of official goods on an artist table is not allowed.
- Please do not bring R18 (K-18) art to Shumicon Shoppu. All age restricted material must be hidden within a separate folder which can only be given for browsing after checking the customer’s age. The selling artist is responsible for checking the customer’s age.
- In the case of crafts, we hope that the products are actually handmade and not made from ready-made parts, especially in the case of jewelry.
All sellers are responsible for making sure that the patterns they use for their crafted items allow for reselling, as well as the safety of the finished products. - Official resellers may contact myyntisali@shumicon.fi if they’re interested in selling at Shoppu.
- Racist, discriminatory or otherwise inappropriate content or behavior is prohibited. Shumicon reserves to right to remove the seller from the event.
- It is prohibited to use the space behind the artist table for lingering. Artists can have assistant sellers, but the space behind the table is not meant for helping friends to take a break.
- Respect your fellow artists and their belongings! Do not block any of the passages with your belongings and aim to maintain a tolerable volume. Do not play music or videos at your table.
- We allow proxysellers, as long as the proxy is still selling products from an artist that was chosen from the applications.
While at the event and tips for selling
- Artists are responsible for their own belongings at all times. Shumicon is not responsible for any of your belongings while at the event. Keep an eye on your valuables at all times.
- You may decorate your table as long as you ensure that larger structures are safe and steady and will not fall over. If you want to decorate with fairy lights, make sure to choose a battery-powered model.
- Artists are not allowed to have clothing racks, mirrors or any other structures next to the table.
Artists can have extra shelves or small tables behind the main table assuming there is enough space. Suitcases and bags and all movables should be hidden beneath the table or in a way that they will not be in the way in the case of an evacuation. - Make sure you have enough change for the event.
- Do also consider getting a card reader such as SumUp or iZettle, as many customers prefer to pay only with card. MobilePay is also relatively popular and allows for a QR-code for payments.
- Prepare the signage and price tags beforehand. A full price list is also helpful to keep on the table.
- If you don’t have a table the same size as the event table at home, you can instead plan your table by marking the area on the floor with tape. This will save you a lot of time while building your table at the event.
- If your products aren’t packaged individually, it is advised to provide the customer with some sort of protection for their purchase, such as an envelope, paper bag or a plastic pocket.
- Remember to drink and eat!
- Shumicon Shoppu is held in November and the venue can be chilly. Make sure to dress appropriately and preferably pack some extra clothing too.
